Synagogue Volunteer Center Marks the End of the Season 462 Metres Above the Ground

The volunteers who have devotedly supported the St Petersburg Synagogue community and its beneficiaries throughout the year were treated to a visit to the Lakhta Center — a landmark skyscraper and business complex in St Petersburg.

On the 83rd floor, at a height of 462 metres, the participants learned about the construction of the tower and admired the spectacular views of the city.

The programme continued at the Synagogue, where Marina Shubova, a Rachamim volunteer and a graduate of the Synagogue’s Tour Guide School, led a short guided tour. The celebration concluded with a meal at the Lechaim  restaurant.

Victoria Gordina, Director of the Rachamim Charitable Center:

«Every year, we organise a special event for our volunteers as a token of gratitude for their hard work, compassion, and care for members of our community.
The end of the season is largely symbolic: whenever help is needed, our volunteers are always ready to step in. At the end of August, we will begin delivering Rosh Hashanah gifts to the Synagogue’s elderly beneficiaries.»
